June 28, 2017 – E&I Cooperative Services (E&I) and America To Go (ATG) have teamed up to help the University of California – San Francisco (UCSF) simplify and improve its managed restaurant and catering procurement process. As a result, the University has realized considerable benefits, including increased controls and policy compliance as well as significant time and cost efficiencies.
UCSF was facing several challenges regarding its catering spend. The university was looking to implement a more streamlined ordering process, reduce risk on campus by ensuring that suppliers were properly insured, and employ a method for controlling tips, service fees, or unapproved orders. Through E&I’s America To Go contract, UCSF worked with ATG to create a customized catering program that makes purchasing food for on-campus meetings and events quick and efficient, utilizing built-in workflows for routing and electronic approval through JAGGAER (formerly SciQuest). The program is supported by a dedicated account manager, with 24-hour customer service.
“ATG has enabled us to control external catering costs, reduce internal catering management process costs, reduce risk, and enable our strategic programs such as healthy eating, sustainability, and supplier diversity,” said Jim Hine, UCSF Chief Procurement Officer. “All that, plus we have the opportunity to work with some amazing new caterers with awesome food.”
